Title IX Coordinator Ann Miller to present at βItβs On Usβ convention

Ann Miller, Title IX coordinator and compliance officer for ²έΑρ³ΙΘΛΙηΗψ University, will facilitate a breakout session at the Pennsylvania Department of Education βItβs On Usβ convention on April 15 at the University of Pittsburgh.
βItβs On Usβ is a national campaign launched in 2014 by the Obama Administration to combat sexual assault on college campuses. The initiative encourages students, faculty, and community members to take responsibility for preventing sexual violence by promoting awareness, bystander intervention, and support for survivors.
Miller received a grant to present at the annual spring event. She will discuss βBreaking the Silence: Student Engagement in Preventing Sexual Violence on Campus.β
Miller says her session will focus on the importance of building a trusting relationship with students that encourages their engagement in preventative education on campus, from residence assistants, athletes, clubs/organizations, and beyond. Examples of successful student programs will be shown while also allowing time for questions and brainstorming on getting students involved and having more of a voice.
In her capacity at ²έΑρ³ΙΘΛΙηΗψ, Miller oversees Title XI compliance and Clery reporting. She received her bachelorβs degree in Elementary Education from Edinboro University in 2007 followed by a masterβs degree in Educational Leadership in 2011. Prior to ²έΑρ³ΙΘΛΙηΗψ, she worked as an elementary school teacher and as a senior compliance administrator in graduate medical education at UPMC Pittsburgh.Β
